These are Graham Cracker cake donuts, with 1 1/2 cups of graham cracker crumbs in them. I don't know what happened here. They were all flaky and crisp on the outside like pie crust. And they soaked up so much oil! Well the thing about donuts is, even the mistakes taste delicious.

This is the first recipe I tried, I'm cooking my way through Sally Levitt Steinberg's Donut Book.
The recipe is allegedly from Craft, it's basically a brioche dough in donut form. There's a pound of butter in here! A pound! And 7 eggs!
They look beautiful, and they tasted great, but I think I may have had some yeast issues or something, because they were a bit dense. And greasy. But yummy.
